What happens when I leave my town?

Your plot, your builds, your items and your permissions after you leave or get kicked.

2 min read 4 sections

Whether you leave with /t leave or are kicked by the mayor, here is exactly what happens.

๐Ÿง‘ You

  • You become townless: no more town chat, no /t spawn, no town protection for you.
  • You keep your inventory, your ender chest, your money, your coins, your level and your jobs: they're yours, not the town's.
  • You can join another town right away with /t join <town>.

๐Ÿก Your plots and builds

WhatWhat happens
Your plotsThey go back to the town: the mayor can resell or give them
Builds on your plotsThey stay as long as the land stays claimed by the town
Chests and items on your plotsThey stay, and are now under the town's permissions: the mayor and residents allowed by the town can open them
Your friends' accessYour friend list no longer applies to those plots

Take your things before leaving

Anything left in your chests or on your plots can be taken or destroyed by the town. Empty your chests first: nobody can give items back after you left.

๐ŸŒฒ If the land is unclaimed

If the mayor unclaims the land, or if the whole town is deleted (bank empty, mayor's decision), the chunks become Wilderness again and are reverted to the state they were in when they were claimed. The builds on them disappear for good, and beds, torches, signs, doors and redstone are removed.

๐Ÿ‘‘ If you are the mayor

  • A mayor can't simply leave: first hand the town over with /t set mayor <player>.
  • Deleting the town with /t delete unclaims all its land: every build is reverted. Think twice, and warn your residents.

Note

A dispute about items or a plot after leaving? Talk to the mayor first. If it goes wrong, the staff can help: bring screenshots. Keep in mind that trades and deals between players are at your own risk (rules).
