🏗️ Creating a town
<player> already belongs to a town.
Why it happens
You can only be in one town at a time.
How to fix it
- 1Leave your current town with
/t leave, then create or join the new one.
<name> is a name that is already in use.
Why it happens
Another town or nation already has that name.
How to fix it
- 1Pick a different name. See all towns with
/t list.
<name> is an invalid name.
Why it happens
Names can't contain spaces or special characters, and can't be too long.
How to fix it
- 1Use letters, numbers and underscores only, like
New_Haven.
You cannot create a new town, X seconds remaining on cooldown.
Why it happens
You deleted or left a town very recently.
How to fix it
- 1Wait for the cooldown to finish.
🚪 Joining a town
The town <town> does not have its doors open to everyone.
Why it happens
This town is invite-only.
How to fix it
- 1Ask the mayor or an assistant to invite you with
/t add <your name>. - 2Then accept the invite with
/invite accept <town>.
You don't belong to a town.
Why it happens
The command you used needs you to be in a town, for example /t spawn or /tc.
How to fix it
- 1Join or create a town first.
💰 Money & bank
There is not enough money in the bank.
Why it happens
You tried to withdraw or spend more than the town bank holds.
How to fix it
- 1Check the balance with
/t, and deposit with/t deposit <amount>.
You cannot afford to claim the plot costing X.
This plot is not for sale.
Why it happens
The town hasn't put this plot on the market.
How to fix it
- 1Ask the mayor to run
/plot forsale <price>on it.
There are not enough residents in this town to do that.
Why it happens
Some actions need a minimum number of residents.
How to fix it
- 1Recruit more players with
/t add <player>.
💥 My town was deleted
Your town could not pay the daily upkeep of X and has disbanded.
Why it happens
Every day at 12:00 server time, your town pays $10 upkeep from its bank. There's no debt on Survival: if the bank is empty, the town is deleted with all its claims.
How to fix it
- 1Create the town again with
/t new <name>and reclaim your land quickly. - 2From now on, keep a buffer in the bank. $300 covers a month.
- 3Set a small daily tax so residents help pay for it.
I was kicked from my town overnight.
Why it happens
You couldn't pay the daily town tax, so Towny removed you automatically.
How to fix it
- 1Keep some money in your balance, and ask the mayor to invite you back.
