Wilderness rules
Where you can build freely, and which areas are protected.
1 min read
Any land that isn't claimed by a town is the Wilderness. On Survival the Wilderness is open: you can build, mine and use anything, just like in vanilla survival.
| Area | Build & break | Protected? | PvP |
|---|---|---|---|
| ๐ณ Survival, Nether, End (Wilderness) | โ Anyone | โ No | โ๏ธ On |
| โ๏ธ Mining world | โ Anyone | โ No | ๐๏ธ Off |
| ๐ฐ Town claims | ๐ Only who the town allows | โ Yes | ๐๏ธ Off (mayor can turn it on) |
| โจ Spawn | โ Nobody | โ Yes | ๐๏ธ Off |
| โ๏ธ Arena | โ Nobody | โ Yes | โ๏ธ On |
In the Mining world you also keep your inventory when you die, so you can mine without fear.
Nothing protects the Wilderness
Anyone can break or take what you leave in the Wilderness, and PvP is on there: other players can attack you. To keep your base, chests and farms safe, build them inside a town claim. See Creating a town.
At spawn and in the Arena you'll see Not allowed to build in the wild if you try to place or break blocks. See Building errors.
